Action Piano Company
This Duo-Art Console Player Piano is another example of what can be done, when the piano was exceptionally well built to begin with. This lovely instrument is made from beautiful Walnut Wood, and has a Standard Pneumatic Action installed. It has been fully restored and was sent to its owner in California. We don't have the 'before pictures for this one, but the rebirth was just as dramatic as what you see above. Another lovely piece of history saved for many more generations to enjoy.
This family heirloom piano came to us from a family in Florida. Little needs to be said about the eighty years, which have passed, since the piano was made-- the pictures above tell it all. The fact remains, however, that pianos made in the days when excellence was the first and most important attribute of workmanship, still have that margin of quality, which makes a restoration like you see above possible. This beautiful Waltham Player is fully restored, and plays like the day it was made.
Henry F. Miller and his sons became near legends in their own time. They were not satisfied to just build pianos that would by used by many of the world's most notable virtuosos of the late nineteenth century, but they went on to be heralded throughout the entire piano industry as a leading maker of musically and architecturally correct piano cases. Their work is still regarded today as some of the best craftsmanship of the period. This lovely Henry F. Miller piano has all the attributes that truly make a quality piano, from one of Boston's most prestigious makers, worth preserving. Handed down in the owner's family, and fully restored by The Action Piano Company, this beautiful instrument now occupies a central spot in their newly built home.
